BP1

A medium to early maturing variety, 14-15 weeks. Is the earliest commercial variety available on the market. Haulms are upright with dense foliage. Abundant blue heliotrope flowers and under favourable conditions gives a few berries. Tubers are white skinned and white fleshed, oval, smooth with shallow eyes and are of excellent quality. Medium sprouting habit. Good yielder, both in summer and winter and in all regions of the country. Moderately tolerant to late blight.

Diamond

Diamond is a medium to early maturing variety. The variety combines good tuber distribution, high yields and early maturity. It has a vigorous growth and an open canopy. The variety has moderate field tolerance to early and late blight. Diamond is expected to complement BP1. Variety development is a continuous process and growers are encouraged to obtain an updated list of varieties from The Seed Potato Association or the Crop Breeding Institute of Ministry of Agriculture.
